Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District is seeking a Wrestling Coach for Boys JV for the 2026-2027 school year. The coach will educate students through interscholastic competition and promote academic success while upholding ethical standards and district policies.

The role requires knowledge of the sport, responsibility for safety and equipment, and the ability to organize practices and events in coordination with the athletic program. Assistance with budgets and supervision may apply for head coach.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a current CPR certification.
• Meet all coaching qualifications, course requirements and certifications as determined by federal, state and District criteria.
• Pass background investigation.
• Be recommended by Principal or designee.
• Receive Governing Board approval.
• Possess an active Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of and enforce federal, state and district policies.
• Adhere to standards of professional conduct as outlined in Governing Board Policy.
• Follow NO Pass/NO Play policy guidelines.
• Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses/vans.
• Support the total school athletic program by developing and implementing strategies for encouraging student participation.
• Ensure accurate inventory, storage, issuance, care and collection of all school athletic equipment.
• Adhere to District policies, procedures and guidelines related to transportation, student travel and supervision of students, use of facilities and management of keys.
• Schedule, organize, supervise and proactively control the environment related to practices, competition and pre/post season events.
• Knowledge of sport being coached.
