Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District No. 210 is seeking a School Athletics Coach to lead district-wide interscholastic programs. The position is seasonal and reports to the District Athletics Office.

You will educate students through competition while promoting academic achievement, safety, and ethical conduct. Responsibilities include enforcing policies, managing equipment, supervising practices and events, and ensuring proper transportation and supervision.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current CPR certification.
• Meet all coaching qualifications, course requirements and certifications as determined by federal, state and District criteria.
• Pass background investigation as outlined by the District.
• Receive Governing Board approval.
• Possess an active Arizona DPS IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Head coaches must possess a valid Arizona Teacher or Substitute Certificate (lower-level coaches under supervision).

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of and enforce federal, state and district policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
• Adhere to standards of professional conduct as outlined in Governing Board Policy.
• Maintain safety and welfare of all participants in practices, locker rooms, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategies to encourage student participation in all athletic programs.
• Ensure inventory, storage, issuance, care and collection of school athletic equipment.
• Supervise and organize practices, competitions and events; manage facilities and keys.
