Job summary

Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a JV Boys Volleyball Coach to lead and develop a high school volleyball program. The role involves providing instruction in fundamentals and strategy, and fostering discipline, sportsmanship, and team culture.

Hours are 10-20 per week with duties as outlined by the Athletic Director. Position starts ASAP and reports to the Athletic Director at Avondale High School.

Qualifications

• Experience or plan of building a K-12 volleyball program.
• Knowledge/experience scheduling practices and off season workouts.
• Teach techniques and fundamentals of sport.
• Be able to demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport.
• Be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport.
• Coordinate offseason conditioning, strength training, and skill development programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction of high school athletes in the fundamental skills and strategy of volleyball.
• Demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport.
• Conduct structured practices within the Athletic Department time frames.
• Ensure player safety and adherence to district policies.
• Coordinate offseason conditioning and strength training programs.
• Lead by example with good character and sportsmanship.

POSITION: JV BOYS VOLLEYBALL COACH
LOCATION: AVONDALE HIGH SCHOOL
REPORTS TO: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
DATE NEEDED: ASAP
HOURS: 10-20 HOURS PER WEEK
JOB GOAL : To provide instruction of high school athletes in the fundamental skills and strategy of volleyball and also instill moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence

WHAT WE NEED:

• Experience orplan of building a K-12 volleyball program
• Knowledge/experience scheduling practices and off season workouts
• Teach techniques and fundamentals of sport
• Be able to demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport
• Be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport
• Assume the responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities being used
• Conduct structured practices that stay within the confines of the specified times at the Athletic Department
• Be an example ofgood character and sportsmanship to team at all times
• Conduct fundraisers to provide money for team supplies and needs

WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Works cooperatively with administrators, students, parents, and community.
2. Ability to lead, organize and supervise all aspects of the volleyball program.
3.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
4 . Develop a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.
5 .Ensure player safety and adherence to district, league, and MHSAA policies.
6 .Coordinate offseason conditioning, strength training, and skill development programs.
7 . Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
8 . Maintains professional competence.
9 . Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
