POSITION OPENING:

Boys Varsity Assistant Swim Coach
POSITION: Boys Varsity Assistant Swim Coach
LOCATION: AVONDALE HIGH SCHOOL
REPORTS TO: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
HOURS: 10-20 HOURS PER WEEK

JOB GOAL :

To provide instruction of high school athletes in the fundamental skills and strategy of Swim and also instill moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence

WHAT WE NEED:
  • Experience Coaching Swim
  • Experience orplan of building a K-12 Swim program
  • Knowledge/experience scheduling practices and off season workouts
  • Teach techniques and fundamentals of sport
  • Be able to demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport
  • Be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport
  • Assume the responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities being used
  • Conduct structured practices that stay within the confines of the specified times at the Athletic Department
  • Be an example ofgood character and sportsmanship to team at all times
  • Conduct fundraisers to provide money for team supplies and needs
WHAT YOU NEED:
  • 1. Works cooperatively with administrators, students, parents, and community.
  • 2. Ability to assist in all aspects of the swim program.
  • 3.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
  • 5. Develop a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.
  • 6.Ensure player safety and adherence to district, league, and MHSAA policies.
  • 7.Coordinate offseason conditioning, strength training, and skill development programs.
  • 8. Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
  • 9. Maintains professional competence.
  • 10. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
