Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a part-time Detention Officer to help safeguard residents in our facilities in Texas. The role requires shift work and weekends, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

You will oversee resident safety and transport to court when needed, while enforcing policies with professionalism. CPR, First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention certifications are required, along with one year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• One year of experience in supervision preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention certifications required.
• Shifts and weekend availability required.
• Male applicants only.

Responsibilities

• Maintains care, custody and control of residents per policies.
• Ensures safety of residents.
• Transports residents to court as needed.
• Searches incoming residents for items not permitted.
• Supervises recreation and restrains residents when required.
