Job summary

The Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court seeks a Probation Support Services Assistant to manage ODYS commitments, coordinate scheduling, and serve as a liaison among ODYS, Detention Center, Probation, Parole, Court Room, and Sheriff’s Transport teams.

Responsibilities include handling intake paperwork, providing excellent service to youth, families, and legal representatives, maintaining records, updating the court management system, and acting as lead in the PSS Supervisor’s absence.

Qualifications

• A thorough understanding of Court operations (demonstrable knowledge of iCase preferred).
• Must be willing to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent interpersonal; problem solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and pressure.
• Affinity to detail.
• Well organized, with the ability to keep accurate records.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• The PSS Assistant works with the PSS Supervisor to maintain Probation standards and assign staff work.
• Observe trends in the unit and recommend process improvements.
• Lead in the absence of the PSS Supervisor.
• Ensure timely completion of juvenile commitments to ODYS.
• Interact with Judges, Magistrates, and Court personnel regarding case flow.
• Coordinate, analyze and modify workflow in the PSS Record Room and Intake Unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
