Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II in Canton, GA to provide social services and rehabilitation planning for offenders under supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating progress, recommending court actions, conducting drug testing, and maintaining case records.

The role involves field supervision of community-based sentences and collaboration with treatment services. The position requires an associate degree (or equivalent experience) and a State of Georgia

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field or higher is required or four years of direct case management experience.
• Two years of job-related experience in a human services delivery setting OR two years at the lower-level Juv. Probation/Parole Spec 1 (SSP130) or equivalent position.
• Must possess and maintain State of Georgia POST certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and ensure compliance with probation contracts.
• Recommend remedial actions or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify treatment program compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for assigned offenders.
• Discuss issues such as substance abuse and anger management with offenders.
• Supervise individuals on community-based sentences and perform field visits (curfew checks, home/work/school visits).
