The County of Mendocino is seeking a Supervisor to manage the Juvenile Hall operations in Ukiah. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and coordinate with Probation Officers and other agencies on youth cases.

The role includes training, program development, and overseeing safety and discipline of residents. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in related law enforcement or counseling work, and valid driver's license.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of progressively responsible related experience in custodial care, treatment counseling, probation, parole, corrections, or related law enforcement/counseling work.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• BSCC STC - Juvenile Corrections Officer Core Course or eligible substitution within first year.
• BSCC STC - Supervisor Core Course or eligible substitution within first year.

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities and operation of Mendocino County Juvenile Hall.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Ensure facility policies and orders are followed by staff.
• Monitor daily activities, including youth counts, room assignments, school enrollment, and medical checks.
• Review, research, and reconcile problems, grievances, and complaints.
• Assist in maintaining policies, procedures, and operations; help develop programs for youth.
• Oversee use of control techniques, including restraints, and monitor special needs youth.
• Coordinate with probation officers, attorneys, and other agencies on youth cases.
• Conduct interviews for potential employees and oversee training for staff.
