Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED and three years of progressively responsible experience as a POST-certified peace officer; must meet POST standards.
• Possess or be eligible for POST certificates as specified; obtain supervisory certificate within two years of appointment; eligible for firearm privileges.

Responsibilities

• Supervises patrol and law enforcement activities during an assigned shift.
• Maintains discipline and ensures department policies are followed by subordinates.
• Coordinates investigations with the District Attorney's office and other agencies.
• Conducts coroner's case investigations and prepares related reports.
• Testifies in court and coordinates court security requirements for high-risk proceedings.
