Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires high school graduation or GED with specialized training plus two years of related experience (juvenile detention, law enforcement, or case work).
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
• Requires Juvenile Supervision Officer certification and ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Team Lead for the shift and supervises staff, processing concerns and performance evaluations.
• Coordinates, assigns, reviews, and schedules work; maintains standards and monitors progress.
• Provides on-the-job training and assesses new employees.
• Manages the daily operation of the detention facility and transports juveniles to court, school, and recreation activities.
• Monitors intake procedures and report preparation; handles difficult situations and assists staff.
