Job summary

Chelan County Comunty Development Dept. seeks a Supervisory custody officer for the Secure Crisis Residential Center. The role oversees a team of juvenile custody officers, ensuring safe and compliant operation of the detention facility and crisis residential center for runaways.

The position requires an AA or equivalent credential and two years in juvenile corrections, with training responsibilities, scheduling, and performance oversight integral to daily duties.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AA) or comparable credential from a technical school and two years’ experience in juvenile corrections or related field.
• Significant corrections experience may substitute for college degree.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates a team of custody officers.
• Participates in hiring and discipline of custody staff.
• Trains full-time and relief staff in custody work.
• Assigns job responsibilities via duty rosters.
• Schedules additional staff coverage as needed.
• Conducts employee performance evaluations.
• Reviews incident reports and conducts post-incident debriefs.
• Leads youth in exercise or recreational activities.
• Performs data entry, records statistics, and writes reports.
• Provides care, supervision, and behavioral management of youth in the SCRP.
