Job summary

The Ohio Department of Youth Services in Circleville, OH is recruiting a Juvenile Correctional Officer to supervise facility operations, ensure youth safety, and provide mentorship and leadership. This full-time role offers overtime opportunities and a path to develop critical criminology and security skills while serving a safety-focused mission.

You will complete required documentation, monitor movements, support family visits, and coordinate with division leadership.

Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D.; valid driver's license; must successfully complete Juvenile Correctional Officer assessment. Must be 21 years of age at time of application.
Probationary period is 365 days.

Responsibilities

Provide safety, security, custodial care, & surveillance of assigned youth.
Observe, intervene, and de-escalate youth behavior and conflicts using training.
Manage and maintain security during family visits and interactions.
Complete all required documents (reports, logs, evaluations, etc.).
Oversee movement on facility grounds and on outside trips.
Monitor housekeeping duties and youth activity.
Maintain awareness of unusual behavior and crisis situations.
Collaborate with division leadership and provide information as needed.
