Job summary

Caring Transitions Evanston & Skokie is seeking a dependable Junk Hauler / Mover to assist with residential moves, cleanouts, downsizing projects, and donation/disposal services in the Evanston, Skokie, Glenview area. This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys physical work and teamwork while helping seniors and families.

Pay is $20.00 per hour plus tips, with part-time / project-based scheduling and potential for additional hours. Eligible for 401(k) after one year; driving could be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry 50–75 lbs and perform physical work throughout a shift.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
• Experience in moving, junk removal, delivery, or similar physical work preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and transport furniture, boxes, household goods, and other items.
• Assist with residential moves, downsizing projects, estate cleanouts, and junk removal.
• Sort items for donation, disposal, recycling, or relocation.
• Safely move heavy furniture and belongings while protecting clients' homes and property.
• Load trucks and trailers efficiently and securely.
• Deliver items to donation centers, disposal facilities, storage units, and other locations.
• Assist with packing, unpacking, furniture placement, and project cleanup as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Provide professional, courteous, and respectful service in clients' homes.
• Follow direction from project leadership and work collaboratively with the Caring Transitions team.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys physical work, working as part of a team, and helping seniors and families through important life transitions.
