Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Designer to support juniors' apparel development across multiple categories. This on-site role collaborates with design, production, and operations to bring fashion-forward products to market.

You will research trends, develop CAD sketches, and manage tech packs while ensuring milestones and fabric sourcing timelines are met. The ideal candidate has a fashion design degree and strong Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the fashion industry ( wholesale apparel experience highly preferred).
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify marketplace trends on style, fit, and color to maintain a brand strategy.
• Create CAD sketches of styles in development.
• Review and approve all technical packs to ensure accuracy of product development and create tech packs as necessary.
• Ensure that the design team is made aware of major milestones and deadlines throughout the design process including fabric requests and sourcing timelines.
• Oversee the creation, development, and execution of design process while implementing the overall brand strategy and merchandise objectives for their functional area.
• Attend fittings and lend feedback to ensure design intention is captured.
• Work closely with Graphic Designers, Sales, and Merchandising to prepare line reviews and presentation materials for market and corporate brand meetings.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of the seasonal design catalogs to ensure accuracy.
• Communicate regularly with Sales and Merchandising teams to discuss line development progress and share feedback.
• Review and approve styles, materials, trims, and colors and effectively communicate approvals to appropriate cross functional teams.
• Special projects as assigned

Sweet Apparel Inc. is a fast-paced apparel manufacturer specializing in quick turn production for juniors, women’s, men’s, and kids’ clothing. The company is recognized for high standards in design, quality, and timely delivery to retail partners and brands. Teams collaborate closely across design, production, and operations to bring fashion-forward products to market efficiently. We are growing and seeking a Designer to support Juniors apparel development across multiple categories!

Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!

Target compensation for this role starts at $80k/yr dependent on experience
