Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join the athleisure team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office.

You will work across Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Mens sizes, lead fit sessions, and create initial tech packs to drive development and costing. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in Apparel Technical Design, a degree in Technical or Fashion Design, strong PLM and Excel skills, and CLO3D experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design.
• 8+ years experience in Apparel Technical Design.
• Knowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and fabrics.
• Proficient in PLM and Excel.
• Clo3D experience is preferred, but not required.
• Attention to detail, sense of urgency, willingness to learn, team-player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple product categories within Athleisure division for Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Mens sizes.
• Accurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samples.
• Lead fit sessions and take detailed notes.
• Identify and call out fit/construction/workmanship issues and communicate corrections to factory.
• Create initial tech packs for development/costing and fit sample submits.
• Ensure all corrections are made at the pre-production sample stage to perfect fit/quality for production.
• Work with Private label accounts to achieve desired fit.
• Knowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specs.
• Adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
• Track and manage sample status; log in samples and assist with keeping sample library organized.
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales.

Sweet Apparel Inc. is a leader in Juniors, Womens, Mens, and Kids fast fashion apparel. Sweet

Apparel designs, manufactures, and imports apparel under its own labels as well as multiple

Private labels. Our clothing can be found at major retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross,

Macy's, and more. We are growing and looking for a full-time, Senior Technical

Designer to join the athleisure team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office.

Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!

Key Responsibilities

• Work with multiple product categories within Athleisure division (tops, pants, shorts, sets, dresses, skirts, activewear, and lounge) for Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Mens sizes
• Accurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samples
• Lead fit sessions and take detailed notes
• Responsible for identifying and calling out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicating all corrections and revisions to factory
• Create initial tech packs for development/costing and fit sample submits
• Ensure all corrections have been made at the pre-production sample stage to perfect the fit/quality for production.
• Work with Private label accounts to achieve desired fit
• Knowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specs
• Ability to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met
• Track and manage sample statusLog in samples and assist with keeping sample library organized
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales.
