Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Entry-Level Waterway Structures Engineer to join our Water team in Rochester, NY, Albany, NY or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. The position focuses on structures near water, preparing designs for locks, dams, and hydropower facilities with senior staff support.

Responsibilities include calculations, QA/QC, field surveys, and documentation. The role offers development toward a PE license and a comprehensive benefits package.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Interest in structural engineering projects on or near water preferred.
• Internship or class experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; desire to obtain PE license in future.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsabilidades

• Perform engineering calculations and create construction cost estimates.
• Create project designs for structures on or near the water (locks, dams, hydropower plants, water control gates, moorings).
• Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
• Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines for projects and respond to RFIs.
• Conduct field inspections and surveys supporting design and construction.
• Research and apply code provisions to design.
• Document design alternatives and findings for project engineer/manager.
• Assist senior staff in proposals, client information, and designs.
• Develop drawings and implement changes as needed.
