Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join the Water Services Group in Minnesota. You will contribute to the design and implementation of water and wastewater facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and other infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience under experienced engineers.

You will perform site assessments, water quality analyses, and hydraulic modeling while developing drawings and project materials using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and may vary with workload.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Perform site assessments and field investigations to support project design and development.
• Assist with water quality analyses, engineering calculations, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Adjust design parameters and develop solutions based on project requirements, site conditions, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Develop drawings, maps, presentations, and other project materials using ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Collaborate with project teams and contribute to presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Support construction management activities and participate in fieldwork, providing exposure to projects from planning to construction.
