Job summary

CDM Smith is looking for an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group in Boston. This role offers hands-on experience on water and wastewater projects while learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative team.

You will contribute to design and implementation, gain exposure to project lifecycles, and develop skills in site assessments, modeling, and reporting using industry-standard tools and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Perform site assessments and field investigations to support project design and development.
• Assist with water quality analyses, engineering calculations, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Adjust design parameters and develop solutions based on project requirements, site conditions, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Develop drawings, maps, presentations, and other project materials using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Collaborate with project teams and contribute to presentations for clients, industry conferences, and other stakeholders.
• Support construction management activities and participate in fieldwork, providing exposure to projects from initial planning and design through construction.
