Job summary

AECOM invites applications for an Entry-Level Design Engineer in the Water group for New York City. This on-site, full-time role supports Water/Wastewater design and program management across project phases, including field visits in the NYC metro area.

The position targets graduates with Civil or Environmental Engineering backgrounds and offers early-career development within a global infrastructure leader, including Day 1 onboarding and exposure to multiple project disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• EIT or FE, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Junior-level role to support Water/Wastewater design and PM projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively work with a multi-discipline design team in office and remotely.
• Coordinate designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
• Collect and analyze data under supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Prepare project deliverables such as drawings and technical specifications.
• Field investigation and observation of construction progress and costs.
