Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a VDC Engineer I to support constructability and coordination tasks using BIM technology on a Philadelphia/Newark project. The role sits in the office and on job sites as needed, with strong training opportunities through Gilbane University.

You will join a supportive team, learn from experienced VDC engineers, and contribute to safe, on-time project delivery while building leadership and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, BIM or related field.
• 0-1 years of VDC Coordination experience.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges.
• Combines all building discipline models into 3D design software coordination model.
• Reviews coordination models for constructability issues utilizing the software's clash detection capabilities.
• Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models.
• Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation.
• Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables.
• Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings.
• Supports 1 VDC deliverable under supervision.
