Job summary

BDR Solutions, LLC is seeking a Junior UI/UX Specialist to support a Department of Defense customer. You will design user-centered interfaces for web and mobile apps, creating wireframes, prototypes, and flows while ensuring accessibility and secure development practices.

The role requires collaboration with government stakeholders, software teams, and program leadership in a secure environment. 1–3 years’ experience and a Bachelor’s in a related field are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, HCI, UX Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional UI/UX design experience for web/mobile apps.
• Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes with user flows.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.
• Knowledge of user-centered design, user research, IA, usability testing, and responsive design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for web and mobile apps.
• Create professional deliverables: FRDs, training guides, user docs, briefing materials, and slick sheets.
• Produce wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and user journeys.
• Develop system diagrams, process flows, logos, templates, and multimedia content.
• Support Working Groups, assist with UAT, and collect feedback for design improvements.
• Conduct user research and incorporate findings into design recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508 and responsive design principles.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, government stakeholders, and cross-functional teams throughout SDLC.
• Contribute to continuous UX improvements and participate in Agile ceremonies.
