Job summary

BDR Solutions is seeking a junior UI/UX Specialist to support a DoD customer, contributing to design, development, and enhanced user-centered solutions for mission-critical programs.

The ideal candidate blends visual design with UX principles, collaborates with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a secure environment, and aligns with Section 508 accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, HCI, UX Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional UI design experience for web and/or mobile.
• Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.
• Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, user research techniques, information architecture, usability testing and responsive web design.
• Experience creating professional presentations, graphics, and visual communications products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive, user-centered interfaces for web and mobile applications.
• Create and maintain professional-quality deliverables, including: FRDs, training guides and user documentation, briefing materials and presentations, graphics and marketing sheets, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes, system diagrams and process flows.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, government stakeholders, and cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support the planning, preparation, facilitation, and documentation of Working Groups (WGs); assist with UAT activities, including test planning and documentation.
• Conduct user research and incorporate findings into design recommendations.
• Develop wireframes, user flows, information architectures, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Ensure all products comply with Section 508 accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
• Maintain design documentation, specifications, user journeys, and design rationale.
