Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry-level Traffic Engineer for our Fairfax, VA office. This role offers flexible hours and part-time telework, with potential for career advancement within a collaborative team working on local and national transportation projects.

Responsibilities include traffic design and analysis for signals, signing, pavement markings, ITS, and operational analyses. EIT is preferred; strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years’ experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis for various traffic related tasks in a team environment.
• Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit.
• Prepare design and cost estimates, meet with clients, and assist in proposal development.
