Job summary

Dewberry’s Fairfax, VA office is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Group. You will contribute to the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage, erosion control, and traffic schemes for a variety of projects.

The role offers strong growth in a collaborative, technology-driven environment. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation) is required; FE is preferred and experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and OpenRoads is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Transportation) required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency using MicroStation required; Geopak and OpenRoads experience preferred.
• Experience working on MDOT SHA, MdTA, and/or VDOT plans in design-bid-build or design-build delivery preferred.
• Working knowledge of MDOT SHA, MdTA, and/or VDOT standards preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• FE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, erosion and sediment control, and traffic schemes.
• Preparation of construction and right-of-way acquisition plans for various projects.
