Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer in our Fairfax, VA office. This position offers flexible hours and the possibility of part-time telework, with opportunities to work on a range of local and national transportation projects.

Responsibilities include design and analysis of traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, ITS, and coordination with other groups; 0-3 years experience; EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field
• 0-3 years’ experience
• EIT certification preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
• Ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering design and analysis for signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, work zone traffic control, ITS, and traffic operations analyses
• Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within the Transportation business unit
• Prepare design and cost estimates, meet with clients, and assist in proposal development
