Job summary

StaffBuffalo in Getzville, NY is hiring a full-time Assistant Trader/Customer Service Specialist to support high‑value contracts and shipments from start to finish. The role blends customer service, logistics, contract oversight, and commodity pricing with a growth path into trading and sales.

You will work with internal commercial teams, customers, suppliers, warehouses, and freight providers on order questions, documentation, and pricing.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required or preferred in a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience; 5+ years strongly preferred.
• Experience with contracts, logistics, or supply chain operations valued.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including international correspondence.
• High attention to detail and comfort managing high‑value shipments.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems and multitask across screens.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer service for assigned customers and contracts, including POs and inquiries.
• Oversee contract and shipment documentation (LCs, bills of lading, invoices, warehouse records).
• Coordinate with warehouses, producers, trucking, customers, and suppliers to meet specs.
• Negotiate freight rates and troubleshoot delays and costs.
• Monitor accounts receivable, billing, and invoicing to keep customers current.
• Support commodity pricing and learn trading aspects of the business.
• Grow into simple sales and trading responsibilities while supporting service and logistics.
