Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in San Jose, CA, is hiring a Test Engineer to design and implement testing methods for complex systems. You will prepare diagnostics, plan labor and equipment, and train operators on new test stations, supporting RF/digital design debug and failure analyses.

The role requires a related bachelor’s degree and familiarity with Linux, Python, ATE products, and ISO TL9000 requirements. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth potential and relocation considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; 1 year of Test Engineering experience preferred
• Familiarity with Linux, scripting languages such as Python
• Experience with ATE Products and Test Interface Units
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with the Engineering Change Control process
• MS Office experience
• Familiarity with ISO 9000-2000 and TL9000 requirements
• Experience in a Contract Manufacturing environment desired

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment
• Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products
• Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices
• Writes detailed test plans, maintenance procedures, test operational work instructions and test procedures
• Identifies and communicates product software and hardware design deficiencies to customers
• Manages project schedule pertaining to test development and software upgrades
• Trains technicians and operators on new production test stations and supports debug of RF/Digital designs
• Provides support for software installation and data collection
• Supports product implementation in manufacturing with layout planning and power/data network requirements
• Identifies and drives test and process improvements for top defects
• Supports new business development with proposals and quotations
• Oversees pilot runs for NPI and provides feedback to customers
