Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical documentation in a coordinated team environment. The role involves creating documents using MS Office and SGML/XML manuals, with hybrid work in Hanover, MD.

You will collaborate with managers and engineers, interpret drawings, and ensure documentation meets standards. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in English/Technical Writing or related field and 0–3 years of experience, plus the ability to obtain security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English/Technical Writing/Communications or equivalent experience.
  • 0–3 years preparing and reviewing technical materials for publication.
  • Ability to work independently and in small teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and proposal language.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research by reading sources and meeting SMEs.
  • Read and interpret engineering information and drawings.
  • Write product descriptions, theory of operations, and manuals.
  • Write and edit documentation per published standards.
  • Create simple illustrations and screen captures; coordinate designers.
  • Submit drafts to SMEs and peers; incorporate comments.
  • Provide periodic status reports to Project Managers and IPS Manager.
