Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group seeks a Junior Technical Writer to prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents for software and systems engineering, operations, testing, and end-user guides.

You will work with developers to produce documentation and training materials, create code documentation, installation guides, and user manuals, ensuring clear and accurate publications. A security clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• An associate’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Two additional years of TW experience may be substituted for the associate’s degree.
• Active security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, manuals and technical publications.
• Understand basic concepts (including grammar) and write technical copy for various types of documents.
• Gather technical information and prepare written text.
• Use MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.
• Work on all phases of documentation.
• Prepare reports, responses, and briefings for a wide range of audiences.

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Junior Technical Writer who will be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. Writes and edits technical documentation for all of the project’s hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how‑to documentation. Creates code documentation for software; produces implementation guides and end‑user guides for capabilities; provides field, data definition, and data flow documentation and formats technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other resources.

• Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
