Job summary

Fuse Integration Inc. in San Diego, California is seeking a Junior Technical Writer to create, edit, and maintain accurate technical documentation.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and SMEs to translate complex concepts into concise, audience-appropriate content and ensure alignment with Fuse style guides. The role requires 2+ years in technical writing or editing, DoD/military documentation experience preferred, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in technical writing or editing.
• Secret Level Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in writing, editing, or publishing, including within a technical or military environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing, collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with engineering development tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn technical concepts and explain them in simple terms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, release notes, procedures, FAQs, and internal knowledge articles.
• Interview and collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other SMEs to capture requirements, workflows, and technical details.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and well-structured content appropriate for the target audience.
• Apply and help enforce Fuse style, terminology, and formatting standards across all documentation.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining document repositories, version control, and document management processes.
• Participate in design and review sessions to understand new features and document them accurately and on schedule.
• Incorporate feedback from peer reviews and stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality.
