Job summary

Frequentis USA Inc. is seeking an entry-level Systems Engineer to assist in assembling, wiring, and integrating hardware, servers, and networking gear into complete VCS solutions. You will configure software, verify OS and application settings, and support production builds.

With guidance from senior engineers, you will troubleshoot, document results, generate wiring and network diagrams, and help with IP networks, switches, VLANs. Travel to customer sites for installations may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 0–3 years in system integration, production testing, or related engineering roles.
  • Fundamental understanding of hardware, electronics, and networks.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assembly, wiring, and integration of hardware components, servers, networking equipment, and communication devices into complete VCS solutions.
  • Configure and verify software installations, operating systems, application software, and system settings.
  • Support hardware and software integration activities on production system builds.
  • Perform system checkout procedures and assist with FAT activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, network, and system integration issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Generate wiring diagrams, rack elevation drawings, network diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Assist in configuring IP networks, switches, VLANs, and network-connected devices.
  • Document integration activities, test results, configuration settings, and build records.
  • Support system upgrades, repairs, and engineering change implementations.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions for production and integration issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, engineering processes, and configuration management procedures.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Production teams to achieve successful system deliveries.
  • Support preparation and maintenance of integration procedures, checklists, and test documentation.
  • Travel occasionally to customer locations to support system installation, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.

Key Tasks

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience, internships, co-op experience, or technical hands-on experience in system integration, manufacturing, or testing environments.
  • Fundamental understanding of computer hardware, electronics, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
