Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Systems Engineer I to contribute to the development and implementation of advanced system solutions. You will align with the technical team across the product lifecycle and glue subsystems together through requirements management and architecture definition.

You will help shepherd the team through milestones, manage requirements and architectures, and support system integration and verification activities to ensure performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Typically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of systems design and development principles.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from senior engineers.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development and implementation of advanced system solutions by aligning with the technical team throughout the product lifecycle.
• Represents the integrated viewpoint during system development and glues subsystems together via top-down decomposition and traceability.
• Supports milestone reviews by creating artifacts and deliverables and participates in system integration and verification activities.
• Identifies technical risks and develops mitigation strategies to arrive at a compliant, cohesive system solution.
• Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
