Job summary

Amentum is hiring an entry level Jr. Systems Administrator on Kauai, HI to support PMRF networks. You will perform Linux/Windows administration, patching, and system hardening for classified and unclassified environments, while learning to manage configurations and virtualization tools under supervision.

Candidates should have minimal IT experience, be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and work in a mission-focused setting with occasional heavy workloads and field duties.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in Information Technology.
• Basic proficiency with Windows Modern Desktop, RHEL, servers, and related infrastructure.
• Must be capable of working in a team environment and across project life cycles.
• Good written and oral communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide entry level systems administration for all clients, servers, and peripherals connected to PMRF networks.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain systems including Linux/Windows workstations and servers.
• Implement DISA STIG secure configurations for applicable workstations and servers.
• Manage users and groups with centralized authentication.
• Configure storage, file systems, and permissions; handle backup and recovery tasks.
• Operate systems, manage VMs, and start/stop services as needed.
• Prepare status reports and briefs for supervisors and customers.
• Use automated installation methods and system imaging (e.g., MECM, VMware).
• Ensure compliance with configuration management requirements for PMRF networks.
