Job summary

Central Dauphin School District is seeking a motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. In this full-time role you will help maintain servers, workstations, and network equipment, ensuring systems run smoothly for faculty, staff, and students.

You will assist with security, backups, and documentation, while learning from senior staff and contributing to classroom technology integration. A degree in IT and familiarity with Windows, macOS, Linux, and basic networking are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in IT/CS.
• Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Basic networking concepts and IP/TCP knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and workstations.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Provide end-user support for hardware and software inquiries.
• Help implement security protocols to protect data and systems.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and user guides.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff on new technologies and upgrades.
• Participate in regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls per district policy.
• Stay updated on IT trends to improve services.
• Support integration of technology in classrooms and staff training.
