Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks an Early Career Electrical Engineer for our Houston or Dallas office to contribute to due diligence, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial projects.

Under supervision you will assist with substation layouts, wiring diagrams, grounding, and protection studies, prepare documentation, and ensure safety standards are met while expanding your technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 1–3 years of post-education experience.
• Knowledge of IEEE/NESC Standards/NERC regulations.
• Familiarity with electrical construction laws and codes.
• Able to communicate with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Familiarity with design software (CAD/CAE) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for substation components and procurement pricing.
• Support design of single line and three-line diagrams and substation layouts.
• Provide entry-level engineering assistance on sizing, cabling, and conduit design.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical design assistance.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, grounding, and power distribution under supervision.
• Prepare documentation using electronic systems and field logs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures.
