Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Automation Commissioning Junior Engineer to support testing, integration, and commissioning of substation automation systems. You will gain hands-on experience, work with experienced engineers, and contribute to safe, compliant commissioning practices.

The role offers exposure to high‑voltage energy systems, grid infrastructure, and IEC 61850/DNP3/Modbus communication protocols, with up to 80% travel for on-site activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
0–2 years of relevant experience; internships considered.
Willingness to travel up to 80% for on-site commissioning.
Basic understanding of electric power systems.

Responsibilities

Support FAT and SAT activities.
Assist testing and commissioning of substation automation.
Perform signal checks and system validation.
Assist with integration and configuration of automation systems.
Document project activity and reporting.
