Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Automation Commissioning Junior Engineer to support testing, integration, and commissioning of substation automation systems. You will gain hands-on field experience, work with engineers, project managers, and customers, and contribute to safety and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes learning in substation automation, grid infrastructure, and communication protocols while traveling extensively for on-site activities.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% for on-site commissioning activities.
• Interest in substation automation, grid systems, or field engineering.
• Basic understanding of electric power systems or electrical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Support FAT and SAT activities.
• Assist with testing and commissioning of substation automation systems.
• Perform signal checks and verification to support system validation.
• Support integration and configuration of automation systems.
• Develop knowledge of communication protocols including IEC 61850, DNP3, and Modbus.
• Assist with project documentation and reporting activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and customers during commissioning and testing activities.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a culture of safety, integrity, and accountability.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
