Job summary

Planet Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an Assistant Structural Revit Designer for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on assisting in planning, design, and documentation for civil projects using Revit and related tools.

The candidate will develop detailed structural models and drawings, collaborate with engineers and designers, and ensure adherence to BIM standards and project schedules. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in drafting/related field plus 2 years experience, or
• Associate degree plus 3 years experience, or
• 4 years progressive detailing/design experience required

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analyses and construction documentation
• Work on diverse civil projects including site design, land development, roads and utilities
• Produce detailed Revit structural models and construction drawings
• Interpret engineers' sketches, markups, and calculations to create accurate drawings
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve BIM model conflicts
• Apply BIM standards to all deliverables
• Manage project documents such as transmittals and PDFs
• Maintain revisions of drawings and plot files
