Job summary

Expert Technical is hiring a Structural BIM Designer for a leading precast concrete manufacturer, located at the Petersburg, VA plant. You will lead projects, coordinate with architects, engineers, and internal teams, and develop 3D precast models from drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural BIM detailing/design experience.
• Hands-on proficiency in Revit or SolidWorks is required.
• Degree (Bachelor's or Associate) in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Construction, or a related discipline preferred; Training or certification in Autodesk Revit or SolidWorks is required.
• Ability to read and thoroughly understand contract drawings, engineering control drawings, and project specifications.
• Strong communication skills to manage client relationships, RFIs, and schedules.
• Ability to perform local job site visits during normal working hours using a company truck (valid driver's license required).
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a project lead, managing timelines, project binders, and schedules.
• Conduct coordination meetings with architects, engineers, general contractors, and internal sales/estimating teams.
• Utilize Revit or SolidWorks to detail foundation plans, framing plans, elevation drawings, repair work orders, and erection drawings; manage BOMs and submittals.
• Manage RFIs, emails, and client conversations, ensuring clear written post-conversation follow-ups.
• Partner with Project Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Production Planning to sequence shop cards and finalize construction drawings.
