Buro Happold Limited invites applications for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team in Chicago. You will work with experienced engineers on projects from concept through completion, gaining hands-on exposure to structural analysis, design calculations, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in structural, civil, or architectural engineering with an emphasis on structures.
• Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design and advanced reinforced concrete design.
• Structural project design experience via internship and/or coursework projects (prior engineering internship experience is preferred).
• Familiarity with Revit and 3D modeling (Rhino, SketchUp).
• Interest and/or experience in visual programming (Dynamo, Grasshopper), coding (Python, C#).
• Demonstrated interest in the built environment and sustainable design.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the progression and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Perform detailed structural analysis, design, and calculations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary project meetings.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Support structural embodied carbon assessments and sustainability initiatives.
• Contribute to site visits and help monitor construction progress.
