Job summary

Buro Happold Limited in New York seeks a motivated Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team, contributing to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for communities and climate goals. You will work alongside leading engineers on projects from concept to completion, perform analyses, support embodied carbon assessments, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.

A Master's degree in structural/civil/architectural engineering is expected with hands-on modeling tool experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in structural, civil, or architectural engineering with emphasis on structures.
• Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design and advanced reinforced concrete design.
• Structural project design experience via prior internship and/or coursework projects (prior engineering internship experience is preferred).
• Familiarity with Revit and 3D modeling (Rhino, SketchUp).
• Interest and/or experience in visual programming (Dynamo, Grasshopper), coding (Python, C#).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the progression and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept to completion
• Perform detailed structural analysis, design, and calculations
• Participate in interdisciplinary project meetings
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Support structural embodied carbon assessments and sustainability initiatives
• Contribute to site visits and help monitor construction progress
