MissionHires is seeking a Graduate Architect or Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona to perform hands‑on forensic investigations, condition assessments, field testing, analysis, and support repair/design documentation for buildings and structures. You’ll work closely with licensed professionals, project teams, and clients, preparing reports, drawings, and presentations while contributing to BIM and construction deliverables. Responsibilities
- Perform hands‑on forensic investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations
- Document distress, collect test samples, and conduct field testing with digital instrumentation and imaging tools
- Research construction documents (modern and historic), governing codes, and design guidelines
- Complete analyses using software applications and hand calculations
- Assist with BIM (Autodesk Revit) and preparation of structural/architectural drawings and specifications
- Prepare written reports, presentations, and final client deliverables
- Interface with project teams, clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Assume responsibility for key project aspects with limited oversight under the guidance of licensed professionals
Requirements
- Able to work daily in the Home Office in north Phoenix, AZ
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering
- Engineers: Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
- Architects: Established NCARB record and prepared to report AXP hours
- Enthusiastic interest in building science, building envelope design, and structural design
- Proven technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to perform field investigations and work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in or eager to learn Autodesk Revit
- Ability to attend meetings at office, field, and construction sites
- Ability to visually and instrumentally inspect buildings and structures
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in outdoor temperature extremes and at heights
- Ability to read construction drawings, diagrams, and computer screens
- Ability to clearly record data and write passages for reports and letters
- Ability to travel and safely operate a motor vehicle (valid US driver’s license)
- Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other access equipment
- Understands and follows safety training for workplace and construction hazards
- Medically fit to use respiratory protection and other PPE
