Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for Phoenix, AZ, combining office work with 50% field inspections across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. A bachelor's degree and active certification path (EIT/PE) are required, with at least 1 year of hands-on inspection experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT certification or PE exam completion.
• 1+ years of hands-on building structural inspection or related field experience.
• Willingness to perform regular field inspections (ladders, roofs).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Familiarity with residential, commercial, or industrial structures.

Responsibilities

• Investigate structural damage from fires, floods, vehicle impacts, foundation movement, and other events.
• Perform hands-on building inspections, document conditions, and assess structural integrity.
• Develop engineering recommendations and repair solutions for damaged buildings.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, field notes, photographs, and structural calculations.
• Evaluate wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures across diverse projects.
• Assist with structural design, repair drawings, and special inspections.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver practical solutions.
• Develop expertise in forensic investigations, structural assessments, and restoration.
