Job summary

Wendel is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our Albany, NY team. This role offers mentorship from senior staff and hands-on experience across structural analysis, design, and coordination on diverse projects.

Recent graduates with EIT and a Civil Engineering degree are encouraged to apply. Based in a hybrid work environment, you will develop skills in RAM, REVIT, and AutoCAD while contributing to multi-discipline projects and learning through structured career development

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
Up to 5 years of Structural Engineering experience.
Working knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM products) and 3D modeling software (REVIT and AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

Assist with the structural analysis and design of structural components and systems constructed of structural steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and wood.
Develop gravity and lateral design loads, including dead, live, snow, wind, seismic, and other applicable loads, in accordance with ASCE 7 and governing building codes.
Develop structural calculations and analysis for structural building systems and foundations.
Assist with the production of structural drawings, details, and specifications.
Coordinate with other project disciplines, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil.
Participate in design and coordination meetings
Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, site observations, and field investigations.
Work directly with structural engineering staff, developing knowledge and expertise through offered mentorship.
