Job summary

Wendel is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our Albany office, with opportunities to work from Rochester, Williamsville, Albany, or Middletown CT. This role offers training and mentorship by senior staff for recent graduates or those with a few years of experience.

You will assist with structural analysis of steel, masonry, concrete, and wood, develop loads per ASCE 7, create drawings, and coordinate with architectural and MEP disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required
• Up to 5 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM products) and 3D modeling software (REVIT and AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the structural analysis and design of structural components and systems constructed of structural steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and wood.
• Develop gravity and lateral design loads per ASCE 7 and governing building codes.
• Develop structural calculations and analysis for building systems and foundations.
• Assist with the production of structural drawings, details, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil disciplines.
• Participate in design and coordination meetings.
• Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, site observations, and field investigations.
• Work directly with structural engineering staff, developing knowledge and mentorship.
