Job summary

RINA is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join the Plant Engineering division in Houston, TX (or Chicago/Lisle, IL). You will design, analyze and verify structural systems across buildings, infrastructure and industrial facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes feasibility studies, detailed design and technical reporting, with responsibilities spanning site support, project documentation and compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering across buildings, infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, including statics, dynamics and material behaviour.
• Ability to perform and validate structural calculations with limited supervision.
• Familiarity with structural design tools and modelling software (RISA 3D, SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD).
• Knowledge of construction materials and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams across project phases.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyse, verify and assess structural works across project types.
• Review engineering documentation for compliance with codes and standards.
• Support certification and engineering consultancy within scope.
• Perform structural analyses and calculations of loads and stresses.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and calculation packages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for project integration.
