Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and construction of electrical substations, greenfield stations, battery storage stations, and transmission lines. You will report to regional leadership and help maintain and upgrade the electrical grid to meet growing generation and load demand.

You will perform structural analysis, produce drawings, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery of high-quality design packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with steel/concrete design coursework; masters preferred.
• 0-2 years electrical utility design experience.
• Experience writing and supporting structural calculations.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, calculations, sketches and drawings for supports and foundations.
• Support structural efforts on engineering services and EPC projects.
• Ensure complete design package delivered on time and on budget.
• Collaborate with design disciplines, contractors and clients.
• Ensure designs meet regulations and client specifications.
• Perform facility reviews for upgrades and propose solutions.
• Provide as-built and project closeout support.
• Visit sites and address engineering issues during construction.
