Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and support electrical substations, greenfield and storage stations, and transmission structures. You will report to regional leadership and help maintain the nation’s grid with rigorous analysis and documentation.

The role involves coordinating with design disciplines, contractors and clients, delivering complete design packages, and ensuring adherence to codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with coursework in steel and concrete design.
• 0–2 years of electrical utility design experience.
• Experience writing and providing support documentation for structural engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
• Proficiency with listed design tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and calculations for designs of substation structures and foundations.
• Support structural efforts on engineering services and EPC projects.
• Deliver complete design packages (drawings, BOMs, specs) on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, suppliers and clients.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and client specifications.
• Assist with site visits and field issue resolutions.
