Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer/Designer to contribute to planning, analysis, and design of structural projects under licensed engineers. You will gain exposure to client collaborations, site visits, and construction delivery.

You will learn through mentorship, participate in professional development, and grow toward PE licensure while tackling meaningful seismic or steel design challenges across West Coast and Michigan offices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in structural engineering strongly preferred.
• Alternative path: Bachelor's in civil engineering with 1–2 years of advanced structural design experience.
• Core proficiency demonstrated in steel, reinforced concrete design, structural analysis, dynamics, and earthquake engineering (West Coast).
• Undergraduate GPA 3.40+ and strong graduate coursework performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design under licensed engineers.
• Produce high-quality contract documents and project deliverables.
• Engage in client communications and documentation with professional clarity.
• Participate in site visits to observe conditions and connect design to construction.
• Grow technically and professionally toward PE licensure.
• Take ownership for commitments and contribute to project team success.
