Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer/Designer to join our growing team. You will assist in planning, analysis, and design of structural projects under experienced engineers, with exposure to client interactions, site visits, and multidisciplinary delivery.

You will gain a strong technical foundation, mentorship, feedback, and opportunities for professional development as you contribute to real-world projects and pursue PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background; master's degree preferred.
• Exceptional candidates with a bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of highly technical structural design experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated proficiency via advanced graduate coursework or project experience in: advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design, advanced structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design under licensed engineers.
• Produce accurate, organized deliverables meeting project objectives and schedules.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients; communicate progress and issues clearly.
• Visit sites to observe conditions and connect design decisions to construction.
• Pursue professional growth toward PE licensure through mentorship and learning.
• Take ownership of commitments and contribute to team success.
